Art and Culture
Give in to festival fever at the Woodford Folk Festival. The iconic six day and night festival will entertain the whole family from 27 December til 1 January.
Two of the world’s greatest living actors, Angela Lansbury and James Earl Jones, are coming together in the Pulitzer Prize-winning play Driving Miss Daisy. Its Australian tour begins at QPAC from 5 til 24 February.
This March, don’t miss the out-of-this-world stage show, Cavalia, where human and horse take part in what can only be described as an equestrian ballet.
This summer, Lisa McCune and Teddy Tahu Rhodes will star in the multi-award winning musical South Pacific from 27 December til 27 January.
James Street in Fortitude Valley is an evolving shopping mecca home to a host of stylish Australian boutique labels or, if international luxury retail is more your speed, visit Edward Street in The City.
Get your bearings and discover some of the adventures that Brisbane has to offer by climbing the iconic Storey Bridge with Story Bridge Adventure Climb.
Keep the adventure going with Riverlife Adventure Centre and kayak the Brisbane River. Alternatively, float down on a CityCat or book in for a guided river cruise with either River City Cruises or Mirimar Cruises. Both will take you up to Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary to get up close and personal with the local wildlife.
Further afield, spend a day exploring Brisbane’s beautiful backyard. The spectacular Moreton Bay and Island region to the east offers a unique coastal escape with sparkling water and kilometres of white sandy beaches. In the west, rainforest waterfalls and glorious mountains will delight you as you explore the Scenic Rim and Country Valley region.
