The inaugural recipients for the APSA Academy Children’s Film Fund were announced at the 5th Annual Asia Pacific Screen Awards ceremony.

The fund is a partnership between APSA and Manila based 4 Boys Films, established by APSA Academy member Butch Jimenez, to support new children’s feature films at creative inception that carry positive, life affirming messages specifically for and about children in Asia Pacific.

Garin Nugroho (Indonesia) for The Seen and the Unseen

nugroho-cff2011Garin Nugroho was inducted into the Academy in 2007 for Opera Jawa, which was nominated for Best Feature Film.






Songtaijia (People’s Republic of China / Tibet) for The Stone with Nine Eyes

songtaijia-cff2011Songtaijia was inducted into the Academy in 2011 for his nomination as Achievement in Cinematography for his film Old Dog. The project is now completed and was retitled as River (Gtsngbo) and received world premiere at the 65th Berlin International Film Festival as part of their Generation Kplus competition.
