The APSA International Jury is a collection of acclaimed film professionals, assembled from around the globe, brought together to judge the winners of six major categories at this year’s APSA ceremony.
The 2016 jury has been described as a “Jury of Juries”, featuring five former APSA International Jury Presidents including Jan Chapman, Nansun Shi, Shyam Benegal and Lord David Puttnam, who will become the first two-time Jury President. These successful filmmakers have been brought back together to celebrate APSA’s tenth anniversary of celebrating cinematic excellence within the Asia Pacific region.
Their announcement was made at a special event honouring ASPA held in the Imperial Palace of Seoul in the Republic of Korea by The Lord Mayor of Brisbane, Cr Graham Quirk, Chairman of the Asia Pacific Screen Award and its Academy, Michael Hawkins, and Korean APSA Patron and International Jury Member King Dong-ho.
“In this milestone tenth year, it is fitting to assemble this ‘Jury of Juries’ of five former APSA International Jury Presidents. They have all played an important role in the development and evolution of APSA, and we are honoured to see them return… I am deeply grateful to the filmmakers for their support, and to the esteemed members of the juries for their work over these years. They have helped make APSA the region’s highest accolade in film”.
