
Designed to nurture outstanding talent in the region, a US$5000 bursary is awarded by APSA in collaboration with the Network for the Promotion of Asian Cinema (NETPAC).
The APSA NETPAC Development Prize winner is selected from the pool of APSA Nominees and is chosen by a panel of three of APSA’s Nominations Council members who are also NETPAC members.
The prize winner is announced on the eve of the Asia Pacific Screen Awards Ceremony. The 2010 Winner was Park Chan-ok for Paju and the 2011 Winner is Sheron Dayoc for Halaw (Ways of the Sea).

NETPAC was founded in 1990 and is a leading platform for the discovery and promotion of Asian cinema. One of NETPAC’s major contributions is the institution of the NETPAC Award at international film festivals.
The NETPAC Award is now given at 28 international film festivals in 21 countries and 5 continents – Abu Dhabi, Antalya, Asiatica Filmediale, Bangkok, Barcelona, Berlin, Brisbane, Bursa, Busan, Chongqing, Estonia, Kazakhstan, Hawaii, Kerala, Jeonju, Jogjakarta, Karlovy Vary, Locarno, Cinemanila, Cinemalaya, Mumbai, New Delhi, Puchon, Rotterdam, Singapore, Taipei and Vesoul.
