In 2011, APSA introduced voting rights for its Academy members in selected categories for the first time. Academy members view and vote on eligible films using a unique high quality online screening platform, APSA VIEW which is now live.
Past Jury, Nominations Council, Documentary and Animation Academy members determine the Nominees and Winners for Best Animated Feature Film and Best Documentary Feature Film in the competition.
Children’s Feature Film Academy members, along with past Jury and Council, decide on the Nominees for Best Children’s Feature Film with the winner in that category to be determined by the International Jury ahead of the APSA Ceremony.
The Nominations Council continue to determine the Nominees in all other categories which will proceed for judging by the International Jury.
The APSA View application allows members to easily and securely watch eligible films wherever they are in the world. Voting is conducted within the APSA View system using an electronic ballot form, and results are collated and independently audited.
