APSA View is a multi-platform Adobe Air® application which allows users to browse, preview and download APSA competition films to their PC, MAC or Linux computer.

APSA View is only available for our Academy members to use for the purposes of voting. It is free for use to this group; however, we recommend that the user has a 1.5mb/s broadband connection. The user is responsible for any and all data charges that are incurred while using APSA View.

4. How do I become an Academy member?
Nominees in the Asia Pacific Screen Awards are automatically inducted into the APSA Academy at the time of the Official Nominees Announcement. In addition, the Director/s of nominated Best Feature Films; Best Children’s Feature Films; Best Animated Feature Films and Best Documentary Feature Films will be inducted to the Academy if they are not already the nominee.
All members of the APSA Advisory Committee, APSA Nominations Council and APSA International Jury are inducted into the Academy at the announcement of their appointment. All APSA Winners are automatically inducted into the Academy at the time of the Winners Announcement at the APSA Ceremony.
The Patron and Vice Patron of the Academy along with the APSA Chairman and Presidents of FIAPF-International Federation of Film Producers Associations are also members of the Academy.
A list of current Academy members can be viewed here. The 2012 Nominees will be announced early October.

5. What categories can I vote in?
There are 3 categories that are available for Academy members to vote in this year: Best Children’s Feature Film, Best Documentary Feature Film and Best Animated Feature Film. However, you are only eligible to vote in the same category/s as your APSA Nomination/s in the past.
Example: Jane Do was nominated for Best Documentary Feature Film, therefore Jane Do is eligible to vote for the Best Documentary Feature Film.
6. Can I vote if I worked on one of the films in competition?
You cannot vote in categories where you have a conflict of interest. All users will be required to submit a declaration of conflict of interest, the relevant clause of which is outlined here:
“I agree that I will not participate in any decision for APSA if I have a direct interest in an entrant or nominee as a result in my participation as a director, producer, actor or any position involved in the production of the film, the subject of the entry or nomination.”
7. I am eligible to vote but I do not have access to APSA View.

10. Do I need to be connected to the internet to use the system?
Yes. The Digital Rights Management system that protects the films requires an internet connection for the purposes of authentication. You will also need an internet connection to download the films.

If you have lost your username / password please contact the APSA Secretariat to retrieve your username and new password.

14. How many films do I need to watch?
The number of films in each category will vary depending on the number of entries this year. In order to vote, you are required to watch all the films that are available in the category that you are eligible for.

The main navigation features, ballot form and key sections are available in Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Farsi, Russian and English. All films are screened in their original language with English subtitles.
